“Rimini and surroundings: the 5 most beautiful villages”

“Romagna, there’s more than just the beach!”

“If you’re up for an adventure outside the city without going too far, you’re in the right place! We’re taking you to discover 5 magical villages just a few kilometers from Rimini’s nightlife. Grab your camera, fuel your explorer’s spirit, and let’s set off to explore stunning landscapes!”

1.BORGO SAN GIULIANO
“The colorful soul of Rimini!”

“Let’s start with the closest village, practically a gem set in the historic center: Borgo San Giuliano. This picturesque neighborhood, once home to fishermen, is now an Instagram-worthy spot thanks to its colorful houses and murals that tell stories of the past. Stroll through the narrow streets, stop for an aperitivo in one of the cool local spots, soak in the bohemian vibe, and catch the sunset over the Tiberius Bridge!”

For an aperitivo? We recommend the Cocktail Bar Peacock (€), the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sunset right by the Tiberius Bridge.”
“Street food? We recommend Borgo Fritto (€) for some fresh fried seafood.”
Typical dinner? For a seafood feast, we recommend La Marianna (€€), an excellent trattoria. Just a few steps away, Esse Romagnola (€) offers a delicious land-based menu.”

2.SANTARCANGELO DI ROMAGNA
“Between art, tradition, and great food!”

“This village embodies the most authentic soul of Romagna. Here, you’ll find lively little squares, artisan shops, and a relaxed vibe that will make you want to stay. Take a tour of the mysterious tufa caves beneath the town, explore the historic center, and treat yourself to lunch in a traditional trattoria—maybe with a hearty plate of passatelli and a glass of Sangiovese!”

Lunch break? We recommend Osteria del Campanone (€) or La Sangiovesa (€€).”

“How to get there?” “20 minutes by car, bus (line 9), or just one train stop.”

3.SAN MARINO
“Shopping, history, and breathtaking views!”

“A quick trip beyond the border to discover the Republic of San Marino! Not only is it the third smallest country in Europe, but it’s also a paradise for tax-free shopping and history lovers. At the foot of Mount Titano, you can indulge in shopping at the San Marino Outlet Experience. If you prefer art and culture, get lost in the medieval alleys of the historic center, surrounded by the city’s many quirky museums. Finally, climb up to the famous towers for a view that stretches all the way to the sea and, for a true local experience, try the San Marino piadina.”

For a dinner with a view? We recommend the most panoramic restaurant in the village: La Terrazza (€€), where you’ll enjoy a stunning panoramic view!”

How to get there? “By shuttle from the station (with reservation) or 30 minutes by car.”

4.GRADARA
“The castle of fairy tales (and lovers!)”

“Now, let’s take a quick trip to the Marche… less than half an hour from Rimini, Gradara will transport you to another era. This medieval village is famous for its impressive fortress, where the tragic love story of Paolo and Francesca is said to have taken place (yes, the one Dante wrote about!). Here, you can visit the castle, stroll along the walls with breathtaking views, and immerse yourself in a fairytale atmosphere along the Lovers’ Path!”

Looking for a snack? Make a delicious stop at Al Giardino Segreto (€) and nibble on something while enjoying a stunning panorama!”

How to get there? 30 minutes by car.

5.VERUCCHIO e VILLA VERUCCHIO
“Between nature, history, and spirituality”

“If you’re looking for a village that blends history, nature, and spirituality, Villa Verucchio and Verucchio are the perfect choices. Located at the foot of the Valmarecchia, Villa Verucchio is famous for its ancient Franciscan convent, which houses a thousand-year-old cypress tree linked to the legend of Saint Francis. Verucchio, already listed among the most beautiful villages in Italy, with the Rocca del Sasso, showcases the grandeur of the Malatesta family’s rule. History lovers can visit the archaeological museum of Verucchio, focused on the Villanovan and Etruscan civilizations. Nature enthusiasts can explore the surrounding trails or relax along the Marecchia River.”

“Typical cuisine? We recommend Trattoria Casa Zanni (€€) to try authentic Romagna dishes. In the center of the village, relax at Ristorante La Rocca (€€€) with its breathtaking view, or head to Al Mastin Vecchio (€€€) for exquisite dishes.”

How to get there? “Bus 160 or 25 minutes by car.”
